Leaving luggage in Amsterdam

Is it possible to leave luggage for 5 or 6 days at the Central train station in Amsterdam? We plan to take a railpass and travel for some days out of Amsterdam this summer and take a small bag with us. When we return to Amsterdam we will be attending a conference near Amsterdam and need business clothes which will be in our larger bag. We noted we could leave luggage at the Amsterdam airport, but we would have to go back to the airport to get it before our conference.

We would appreciate your help!

The only place you can do this is at Schipol. The lockers at the train stations are emptied out after three days, and all contents are sent to the lost property department in Utrecht:

Leaving it at Schipol might not be as inconvenient as you think. Schipol is on the route to quite a few locations so depending on where you are going, it might not be out of the way to leave your bag at Schipol. For example, on my last trip, my train from Bruges to Amsterdam and my train from Amsterdam to Leiden both stopped at Schipol.

Thanks so very much for your help in this matter!

Has anyone left luggage at Armsterdam airport for a period of time? We just read that this was possible in a travel book.

We will be traveling to Ede, Netherlands for our conference. It looks like it is southeast of Amsterdam. We can't find much information about this area of the Netherlands.
