Leave Out Vienna

Hi, We have a small bit of travel experience having traveled to Rome and the UK, but we did it with tour groups. Now we are planning our first solo trip to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest in July. We have roughly 15 days and thought to do something like ... Prague for 3 - 4 days, Cesky Krumlov 1 - 2 days, Vienna, 3 days, Budapest 4 days. We're worried that it will be too hectic and busy, and (don't shoot me) perhaps we should cut out Vienna to have longer more relaxed stays in Prague & Budapest. Savvy travelers, what's your advice? Thanks!

Nah, you've got a pretty good distribution as it stands. Stay with it.

I've been to all those places and I agree with Ed. Your itinerary is just right. And by no means should you skip Vienna.

Great input! Glad to know we're on the right track. We're keeping Vienna. Thanks, all.

Diane, I agree with the others. Your proposed Itinerary looks reasonable, however be sure to allow for travel time between cities, which will include time to get to the Hotel, check-in and getting "settled". I assume you're planning to use "open jaw" flights, inbound to Prague and outbound from Budapest? Happy travels!

I also agree. I think you have made good choices. The places are relatively close together so the travel time on your trip will be reasonable. Each stay is about right. If it were me, I would go without hotel reservations so I could adjust each stay up or down as desired while on the road - but I also travel outside the main months so having no reservations rarely causes a problem. I'm not sure I would try it in July.
