Hi! I plan to visit Florence but had only 2 days. Is it better to stay in historic area or somewhere near the station? Also how big is the locker in Florence train station if i were to leave my luggage there?

Gina, last time I was there we had big rolling cases as we were doing crazy travel. My mother's 31" fit in a locker; I believe that we could get 2 of our carry-on bags in it. It will fit what you can carry.

The train station is very near many hotels. I stayed at Hotel Il Bargellino (10 minutes walking). I walked to Accademia (Statue of David) and Ufizzi Galery (outstanding Museum).
I hope your luggage is as portable as you are (wheels and easy to lift up on to a train).

I believe that the train stations have done away with lockers since 911 and just do a bag check. I read somewhere that the Florence bag check is near track 16.
