Perhaps someone will have a better transportation answer, but I would think it wouldn't be that far to take a taxi. We were in Honfleur last year and could visually see Le Havre from where we were.

I did a search on the local bus company, and there is a very limited bus service between Le Havre and Honfleur on Sundays which is not conveniently timed for a day trip to Honfleur. I think you'd probably need to hire a car or get a taxi.

If you are just going to Honfleur area I would suggest hiring a taxi for the day or half day.
You can arrange a time for the taxi to pick you up after you tour the town. Our driver also took us up on the hill above the town where there is a little chapel, Notre-Dame de Grâce, built between 1600-1615 dedicated to mariners. Plus, there is a wonderful view of the estuary. You can see why Monet and other impressionist were so taken with the area. You might also venture to the fancy resort town of Deauville which is 8 miles from Honfleur. We loved strolling around the town and to the beach. The film festival was going on. http://www.colindaylinks.com/france/normandyhonfleur1.html We have also rented a car for the day in this area from a cruise ship and it was really more of a hassle/expense that hiring a taxi for the day. Hi! Here are the taxi rates: http://www.taxis-le-havre.com/tarif.php For Honfleur (3hours) it is 125 Euros for 1-4 people. Perhaps Deauville could be added as it is very close ( 8miles). You could do both in 6 hours. La Côte Fleurie Tour (Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville) 5 hours is 195 euros. 1-4 people You could compare this price to your ship's tour price... although a taxi tour in this small area is so much more flexible to your whims and wishes.

The port of Le Havre is ENORMOUS. It is one of the largest in Europe. It can be a 20 minute drive just to get out of the harbour. Get a quote, specifying the berth, before getting in a taxi. Roger

We are at a loss. Our cruise ship is docking in Le Havre on a Saturday. We are desperately looking for transport between Le Havre and Honfleur and return. The Honfleur tourist office has told us that by taxi it would cost between 50 and 60 Euros each way. Even divided between 2 couples this is far to much. I am having incredible difficultyin finding a legible bus schedule. Can anyone provide any helpful information? Thank you in advance!

On the north side of the basin where the cruise ships dock is a car rental place. Rental for a day will be less than seventy-five bucks, maybe even closer to fifty. You won't burn a gallon of gas driving to Honfluer and back. I think the Normandy Bridge toll is five euro. It's less than a half-hour drive each way, even from about where the rental office is.

Marianne, On Saturdays there is one morning bus. Busverts du Calvados line 20 leaves Le Havre at 08:49 and arrives in Honfleur at 09:19. On Saturdays line 20 buses leave Honfleur at 13:22, 16:12, and 17:49. They arrive in Le Havre at 13:51, 16:37, and 18:18, respectively. The fare is €3.85 each way. The Busverts du Calvados site is only in French. The link for the timetables ( Horaires) is at the top of the home page. Let me know if you need further help.
