We have a long (10 hr) layover in Frankfort during the daytime. We would like to use a gym to work out the travel kinks and to freshen up - any suggestions which hotel may over this at a minimal fee?
Google this. Lots of hotels within minor distance. The Frankfurt official airport web page has a tab "hotels at the airport" Check that out. You'll have to decide on the price range that suits you. There are also showers available in Terminals 1 & 2. See the official web page - at the top there's a "services at the airport" which will give you all the details on where these showers are. Then there's the whole airport lounge day pass thing. For o/a $50 you can access a specific airport lounge for 24 hours. Most are very relaxing, have food available and some have showers and cell free zones (usually with a few recliner seats). All are within the security zone.
There are lots of things to see and do in Frankfurt and Frankfurt is only 15 minutes away from the airport on a super easy train. Would you perhaps like to do some things outside in the fresh air in Frankfurt rather than in an airport hotel room? Jo from Frankfurt has over the years listed dozens of things to entertain you during a day like that.
With a 10 hour layover in Frankfurt, why in the world would you want to stay at the airport? You can come to town in 11 min. with a train leaving track 1 at the Regional train station every 15 min. You can jog down the river Main, or around the park that surrounds the entire inner city, or just go sightseeing. Need a bit more of a work-out, you can climb the 323 steps to the top of the Kaiserdom. Buy a group day ticket for 15 euro, and it will be valid for up to 5 people all day, including the trip into the city and back, as well as in the city itself. Once you get back to the airport, showers are in Departures, Hall A. Cost is 6€ or $8. There are no real day rooms at the airport. Cheaper is to get a budget room next to the train station in Frankfurt. Try Hotel Excelsior, or Ibis on the Friedensbrucke.

Hehe... great reply, Roberto! ;-)
Cheeky Roberto - I wondered when somebody would do such a thing...
I was expecting Lee to scold the nice lady on the spelling.
