We will be spending two days in Lauterbrunnen for two nights in 2020. Is it worth the cost to purchase a Swiss Rail Pass to cover the cost of the cable cars and trains in the valley?

If you are staying just 2 nights in Switzerland with a car you could probably do without a pass. It depends how high you go up roundtrip from Lauterbrunnen. For example Lauterbrunnen to the top of the Schilthorn would cost you 105 CHF or $105 dollars roundtrip. Some ride halfway and hike up and ride down and that lowers the price.
