If my flight arrives at Heathrow at 22:45, do I have a reasonable amount of time on a Saturday night to ride the tube into central London, or will I likely miss the last one? Time for clearing customs and baggage claim concern me.
You would be very lucky to catch the last train. Someone else asked a similar question a couple of days ago. If you checkout that thread you'll get some ideas of what you options are.

Karen,
You can check the tube schedule at www.tfl.gov.uk. Use the journey planner.
I have taken a flight that arrives at 10pm 5 times and have always been able to make the tube or Heathrow Express. I do always make sure to check the schedule and note the times of the both the tube and the Heathow Express (or Connect) so I know what my options are. With a 10:45 arrival, you will really be pushing it to make the last train so you may be better off arranging for a car service. Taxis are very expensive.
Depending on how much luggage you have, there is also a night bus service from Heathrow to Central London. It takes forever.....well, not forever, but a long time.
You can use the journey planner for the tube for the bus as well.
Thanks, Everyone, for your help. I think the skyshuttle seems to be the best option for my situation. I appreciate your helpfulness.
