Wondering what is the best train route from Lausanne to Annecy. I'm not sure if it will apply at all, but we do have a Swiss Pass. Also, is this a train we want to book in advance or not?
Thank you,

Thank you,
Your other post asks about Lauterbrunnen. Is it Lauterbrunnen or Lausanne or both?
In Switzerland you NEVER need to book in advance for train journeys. It is not even possible for Swiss internal trains. For international trains, it is only necessary if you are crossing the border and the 'foreign' railway company requires it.
Unlike most other countries, there is no price difference for purchasing tickets ahead of time. You pay exactly the same price if you buy at the station on the day of travel, and all tickets are valid on all trains.
(I have answered the first question on your other post).
How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. On that site, when you view details, any train that needs a reservation will say "subject to compulsory reservation." Others may say "please reserve," which is optional. If reservations are not mentioned, then they are not important. Within Switzerland, you will only reserve a few of the named scenic train departures, such as Glacier Express.
