Laptop on Planes

I need help from some of the techies on this board.

I'm going start taking my ASUS EEE on trips with me and want to use it on the plane.

I usually fly American which states the following about their power outlets:

American uses a "cigarette lighter" style outlet delivering 15 volts of direct current. On most aircraft*, a power outlet is available at each seat in First and Business class, as well as selected rows in the Coach cabin. Outlets may be used to operate laptop computers, CD/DVD players, charging cell phones and other devices with a maximum 75-watt capacity

I'm getting a car charger for the EEE. It has the following info:

Power Input
Input : 10~18VDC
Output : 12VDC-3A

Can I use the car charger on the plane for power without damaging my computer? (It has the cigarette lighter type plug.) Thanks.

Sure. The 15 volts DC fits just fine into their 10 to 18 volt DC range. You'll be computing in no time.
