we are arriving into mestre train station(venice) and will be getting on a msc cruise...was wondering how much it will cost and how long of a drive is it from the trainstation to the oport ...i was told it was the easiest way to make this trip
A) Take a official metered cab o/a 30 Euros. It's only o/a 4&1/2 miles and a 15 min ride. Cab fare factored into the price of your airline and cruise tickets is dust in the wind cost wise. B) Take connecting train from Mestre Stn. to S. Lucia Stn (six an hour at o/a 1Euro, 10 minutes). Most trains stoping at Mestre continue on to S. Lucia so check your tickets. Upon exiting the train station take a vaporetto to the San Basilio stop which is nearest the cruise ships. Or C) You could take the bus from Mestre to Piazzale Roma (and don't fret it's only about 5 miles and they're used to hauling tourists and their bags). From Piazzale Roma you could take the people mover (can't miss it - big glass, elevated modern thing) to the cruise dock. It's still a walk to the ship.
