If I fly into Lamezia Airport because I cannot get a non stop flight from Toronto into Palermo and I need to get to Vicari, Palermo(small town) what do I do? Train, ferry??

Hi Mina, Last May we took the train from Lamezia Terme to Catania. We got the super reduced advance fare of 9 Euro on Trenitalia. The train car went on to the ferry to Messina and then on to Catania. I'm pretty sure that if you buy a ticket to Palermo, they would just put you in a different train car that would take you to Palermo. It must warn you that it was scenic but very slow (because of the shuttling of the train car on and off the ferry) and very crowded in late May. Many families and a large school group on board. Can you fly into Naples and then fly to Palermo on a regional budget airline such as Easyjet? I would take it over wasting a large part of a day travelling by train. Hope that this info helps.
