Or, if you've got time, take a ferry boat from La Spezia to Bastia on Corsica island (mobylines or Corsica Ferries) and then another ferry boat from Bastia to Marseilles (SNCM is the name of the company that operates on that route)... It would be a nice 24 hours cruise in the Mediterranean.
