KLM from Amsterdam to Stockholm - R/T ticket but using on one leg

hi all, Im trying to buy my air tickets from Amsterdam to Stockholm for this fall and for some reason, the prices arent traveler friendly. what im seeing from Skyscanner is that one way flights is almost 1k United States Dollars (USD). If i use Kayak, it shows Round Trip (R/T) tickets from same points from KLM for 200 USD. However, i only plan on going one way. The KLM www site says "fees" maybe incurred for NOT using ALL legs of the ticket. IF so, what additional charges can they put on my credit card? IF any of you have experienced this "fees" for not using the rest of the ticket, i would love to know. happy trails.

In theory the airlines reserve the right to charge you for a one way trip should you not use the return portion. In practice, the possibility of this happening is very low. I don't anyone has ever posted that they were back charged for not using the return leg. No way to evaluate the actual risk. You could be the 1 in a thousand or ten thousand that they decide to enforce.

Not sure when you are going, but I get a price on Kayak for a one way AMS to Stockholm on SAS for $110 for dates in Sept and Oct. It is a non-stop flight. Is there a reason it needs to be KLM?

@ Leslie, No, there isnt any reason to use KLM, it was one of the airlines that offered direct flights. i will look at Kayak again and see what happens. thank to both of you. So far in all of my travels (2 last year) ive never had this amount of problems. also, i should have added, i was looking for early flights too. happy trails.

Missing a flight back is usually not problematic, unless you do it often and repeatedly with the same airline.
