Killing time at CDG in Paris

I am traveling to Paris on 9/9/09 and my flight times have been changed so that I am now arriving at CDG at 8:30 am on 9/10. The problem is that the apt that I am renting in Paris will not allow us (3 girlfriends) to "check-in" until 2:30 pm and CDG does not have any lockers to keep our luggage in. Any suggestions other than hanging around the airport for 5-6 hrs? Help!

Get thee into Paris and begin your sightseeing! At least get a strong coffee into you to keep you awake! ;) CDG is outside the city, so take the RER B line into Gare du Nord...you'll find storage lockers there. Begin to explore this fantastic city, return to get your luggage out when it's time, and head for your apartment.

You won't be the only person roaming the city with luggage in tow, I promise. Get in to the city (I was in the same boat earlier this summer, took the bus to Opera & spent a couple hours at Galeries Lafayette) and roam.

Find a nice park and have a picnic. Visit some sights, then go collapse in your apartment. You don't have to hang out in the airport!

Hi Debbie--Have you specifically asked about dropping off luggage at the apartment? When we rented an apartment in Paris, we were told we couldn't check in until after 2:30 pm, but when we asked if we could just drop off our luggage and leave, they said sure.

If I were you I would proceed to the apartment's area as soon as you get out of CDG. CDG is quite a ways from the city center. Ask if you could leave your luggage before checking in, if not, maybe get lockers in the closest train station to store your luggage and start exploring!

Yeah make your way to your apt and ask if you can leave stuff there. If not just explore around there. What part of the city is the Apt in?

In the Champs Elysees area, 8th District on Rue de Penthievre....

Owner said he could let us in at 2:00 as he needs to meet us there and not available until that time.

Thank you

Champs Elysees --- then you probably won't be the only one dragging your luggage. But my advice, travel light! Use the laundromat.

Norm (first post) had the best advice. Store your luggage at Gare du Nord and then take the hop-on/hop-off tour bus for a couple of hours. You can pick it up outside the Gare du Nord, and then return there for your luggage after you have all had a tour, some lunch and a couple of glasses of wine.
