Nance,
I'm one to move at break-neck speed thru airports (when necessary), but I really don't know that I could successfully make a 53-minnute connection in Amsterdam. It can often take at least half that time just to de-plane, although being in first class, you won't be behind a huge line of people trying to get off.
Could you make it? Maybe. Have one of those people mover carts ready for you, so you can quickly get from one gate to the next. The last time I was in Amsterdam, there was some construction at the airport, so I don't know if that is finished now or not....and I don't know if the final product could mean having to change terminals, etc. I just don't know. Someone else would know.
See if the airline could also somehow fast-track you thru passport control (due to the tight connection)....we've been fast-tracked in some overseas airports when connections were tight previously (airline person had a sign showing initials of departing flights then took all those passengers as a group to an expedited line).
But, when something like this happened to me on a flight a year or two ago, I called the airline only to be told something like: Oh, that is not a legal connection. Huh? They told me that the reason I had not yet received an email was because a human reviews the changes the computer makes to make sure there are not foreseeable problems and that the process had not yet taken place for my ticket (since it was still several months off). What I did before calling, though, was to go on line and find a re-routing that I wanted, and that's what I asked for and received. Another time, when I had to spend the night in Atlanta on the way home, we asked and were reimbursed not only for the hotel, meals, but also the taxi to take us home (since it would be an odd hour for our friends to retrieve us). If we had a dog in a kennel an extra night, I think they would have reimbursed us for that. And, also make sure you get decent seats (since you have obviously paid for first-class, you'll want that, too). But, first class tends to fill up quickly when making changes at the last-minute, so addressing it now may help. Then there is always the trade off of do you want to (potentially, if you have to) wait extra hours or another day to fly first class vs. just getting on a plane and coming home sooner.
But, there is a chance you could make the connection if the moon and stars line up just perfectly and you have a good team on the ground to help you move along quickly.
Let us know how it works out for you. An airline worker once told me that I should never count on a schedule remaining the same until I was within the 60-day window of the flight.
