This is the first time we have had a flight arriving from Europe into JFK. Our connecting flight leaves from LaGuardia. Does anyone have a tip on the best way to get between the two airports for a family of four?Thank you!
"Best" is very subjective. A cab would be the easiest way. It will be about $30-35 plus tip. There are also a couple of shuttle services: http://www.nycairporter.com/
http://www.etsairportshuttle.com/ but by the time you pay per passenger on the shuttle services, you can get your own cab for about the same if not less.
A taxi will be your best bet. I don't know if station wagon or van taxis are available (considering baggage for four) but I feel sure they are. I took a taxi last May and the fare was less than $35 not including tip. There is a taxi queue outside the baggage claim area. If someone approaches you inside the terminal offering a taxi they are not authorized. I have done this once with three friends but it is probably not considered acceptable. Have you tried googling Taxi JFK-LaGuardia? There may be more info. They will give you a slip of paper at the taxi queue which includes the taxi number in case you have a complaint. The coach (shuttle) is $13.50 per person and departs
approximately every 20-30 minutes.
Thanks Frank and Paula, Taxi it is! I had been looking on both airports websites and couldn't come to a decision. This helps a lot! Cindy
