I'm a 77 year old female, traveling solo, and landing at JFK from the west coast for an overnight stay near the airport before departing the next day for Milan. I will have one medium size suitcase (checked) and two small/personal carryon bags, one containing my 8lb dog. I have never been to JFK and I am looking for the EASIEST way to navigate from the airport to my hotel (Courtyard by Marriott JFK) and back. Can anyone recommend a trusted limo or car service for me? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I suggest contacting the hotel for details as they provide a complimentary shuttle.

Thank you; but I have to take the free AirTrain to Federal Circle Station where my shuttle would pick me up. I'm not feeling comfortable making 2 transfers like that. With luggage and dog.

According to your hotel’s website, they run an airport shuttle. Most likely it is free. There’s really no need to book a limo or car service. Finding a car service at the right pickup place will be no easier than finding the hotel shuttle pickup.
When you are ready for the shuttle, follow the AirTrain signs and take the AirTrain to the Federal Circle stop. The AirTrain is free. People navigate this with luggage all the time - it’s built to be easy. Follow the signs at Federal Circle to the hotel shuttle pickup area. Here’s a map of the AirTrain from JFK’s website:

You might want to call your hotel to get their specific details (how often they run their shuttle, what time do they start in the morning, do you need to call them when you are ready to be picked up or do they run on a regular schedule, etc.)

Let's start with the good news. While the hotel has to pick you up at Federal Circle, they can drop you off at your terminal. (Other hotels do but check with the Courtyard.)
I believe there might be exceptions to the pick up rule at Federal Circle. (I know they can pick up flight crews from the terminals.) Why not contact the hotel, tell them of your situation, and see what they suggest.

If the OP must have her checked bag with her overnight, then I can see that managing three pieces of luggage, one with a dog, would be cumbersome. Can't you simply take a cab to/from the hotel? If the bag can be checked through to Milan, then the route via AirTrain less of a hassle. Which terminals are you arriving and departing from?

Thank you for your reply. It is my understanding that with all the construction going on at JFK, taxi lines are very long, and prices unpredictable. Also with Uber etc. Checked bag will be with me overnight, as I depart with a different airline and reservation the next day. I arrive at Alaska domestic which operates out of Terminal 8. I depart Delta International., Terminal 4; I have to use full service check in with my dog, even with a reservation for her. I have never flown in or out of JFK before; and haven't traveled long distances since my husband passed away, so I am apprehensive.
