Italy Trains-Siena-Lucca-CT

Hello: I am heading to Florence first, then down to Siena for a few ngts. From there, I am heading to CT, but, I have 1 ngt in between my reservations & was thinking of going to Lucca for that ngt. When leaving Siena, I assume I will have to go thru Florence or Pisa to get to Lucca. What I'd like to know, is there a train from Lucca that will take me to CT without having to back track to either Florence or Pisa? Also, when I leave CT, I need to get to Pisa as my flight will depart Pisa the following day. Is it possible to get to Pisa from CT?
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for taking the time to answer Tim - I'll take a look at the time table.

The fastest route for Siena to Lucca is Siena-Empoli-Pisa Centrale-Lucca. You can also go Siena-Firenze Rifredi-Lucca.

Using Vernazza as your CT town, you can go Lucca-Viareggio-La Spezia Centrale-Vernazza.

For detailed timetables use the German Rail site. After you get summary timetables for point A to point B, click on the arrow to the left of the departure time(s) of your choice to see the connecting points.

Enter a date prior to 13 June. New timetables will go into effect throughout most of Europe on that date and Trenitalia (Italian National Rail) hasn't uploaded theirs yet. Until they do, the German Rail site can only show the current timetables.

You're welcome, Gail. I forgot to say that you certainly can travel by train from the CT to Pisa. And you can take a train from Pisa Centrale to the airport.
