ITALY TRAIN PLATFORM QUESTIONS

I have travelled on trains in Italy before but only point to point with no transferring of trains required. I hope someone can help with the distance between platforms, I am concerned we will not have time to transfer and miss our train Our schedule Saturday 9/24- Varenna depart @ 837 to Milan arrive 940 Regional train Milan to Rome Termini on 9511Frecciarossa assigned seat Depart 10:15 Arrive 13:15 Termini Depart Termini on 9770 Frecciabianca assigned seat @ 14:10 Arrive Civitavecchia 14:51 any helpful tips would be appreciated

It appears you have 35 and 55 minutes between your connections. As long as the trains are on time, you'll have more than enough time making these train connections. The plaforms for the "fast trains" are usually grouped close together. If you need basic train info, you might read this post, Riding Trains in Italy. Many times the tickets will indicate the platform number although that can change. Second, absolutely know the number of the train. That number will be everywhere from the announcement boards to little signs on the platform. The longest walk will be the Civit.. connection. The Civit platforms are to the very far right (facing the tracks). Can be a very long walk.
