After visiting Florence we plan to travel Tuscany. We've heard it's easier to rent a car in Piza vs. Florence. We will be heading to Rome after Tuscany. Usually car must be returned to same rental place. Any comments?

You can rent one place and return another. I wouldn't drive to Pisa to rent the car unless you are going there anyway. But getting in/out of Florence is a bear. Find a closer town on your route out of Florence.

Don't go to Pisa just to rent a car. If you're nervous about renting in downtown Florence (which isn't too hard) just go to the airport and pick up your rental from there.

Rent the car at the Florence airport ,drive thru Tuscany and drop it in Orvieto and train to Rome.
