Is this possible? Rome-Venice-Mittenwald,Germany-Interlaken,Switzerland

In 2009 we would love to include the following 4 destinations into our travel plans to Europe.
Rome to Venice is easy by train (about 4 1/2 hours).
But then, how should I best hit Mittenwald, Germany (South of Munich, North of Innsbruck, Austria)...and Interlaken, Switzerland (near Berne)???
Transportation from Venice to Mittenwald, Germany seems to take about 6 hrs at best.
Transportation from Mittenwald to Interlaken seems to take 9 1/2 hrs at best. Any tips on more efficient travel?

Welcome to travel in the Alps! Actually, according to www.sbb.ch/en I see a connection from Mittenwald to Interlaken Ost that takes 7 hours. That's still a long time, but not as bad as 9.5 hours.
