We need to get from Auschwitz to Wroclaw (the train with stops takes 5 hours)...is there a bus? Anyone know? The only bus website I could find was in Polish only...can u help? Thanks.
Hi, Are you staying in Krakow? I would suggest inquiring at your hotel there or at Krakow Glowny on the possiblity of bus connections? I took that route from Krakow to Wroclaw (Breslau) in 2001. The train leaves Krakow stopping first at Katowice (Kattowitz/Oberschlesien), then proceeding to Wroclaw Glowny.
It is my granddaughter and she will be staying at the youth hostel in Krakow. She will be traveling with 6 other youths. When I was in Poland several years ago, I was able to hire a driver as cheap as taking the train and think this is the way they may want to go, especially since there are 6 of them. I just posted a request for a recommendation from anyone who has done this more recently. They wouldn't be taking a train from Krakow to Wroclaw it would be from Auschwitz to Wroclaw. There is one that leaves at 4:23 and arrives in Wroclaw at 9:18. Was hoping there might be a bus that was more direct and had more options. Thanks for your help anyway. Appreciate the reply.
Hi, If that hostel in Krakow is the Greg and Tom by the train station, they would be able to tell you where to catch the bus. There is a tour bus station,... going to Auschwitz,...can't recall exactly where, but it's within walking distance from the station and very close to the block, maybe on the same block, where the big statue showing the the Polish victory at Grunwald in 1410 stands.
Thanks, Yes, the bus run almost every hour back and forth from Krakow to Auschwitz....and drops passengers off at the entrance....it is the journey from Auschwitz to Wroclaw that poses a bit of challenge. But your suggestion is good, they can stop at the bus station and inquire. Thanks again for taking time to reply.
