My sister (22) and I (33) are considering taking the night bus from Paris to London to maximize our tour time. Has any one done this? Do you think it is safe? Thank you in advance for your advice. It is much appreciated.
Eww,, consider Eurostar, its 2 1/2 hours travel time plus check in 1 to 1/2 hour before. You arrive feeling human too , and the train takes you right into the heart of the city, where as I believe I read the bus station in Paris is outskirts.
If you book far enough ahead you can get good prices too, when are you dates??
I have taken this bus twice (I'm 24) - and it's not as bad as it sounds. It is perfectly safe and clean. The seats are comfy and recline, there is plenty of baggage storage, and they turn the lights off so you can sleep. It's not as comfortable as a hotel, but it's cheap!
It leaves from London Victoria Coach and arrives at Paris Bagnolet, which is a metro stop on the eastern edge of Paris.
The Eurostar is a lot faster, but can cost MUCH more if you don't book early enough. I've taken the coach RT for £32-37 each time.
If money isn't an issue, I'd recommend the Eurostar. They will wake you up on the bus when you get to the English Channel for passport control - at around 2 a.m. Not fun. Other than that, it's not so bad.
