Is Figures and Cadaques possible using public transportation

We arrive in Barcelona at 7pm and need to be back in Barcelona at 5pm, 22 hours later. Is it possible to get to Dali's house and museum? Should I just rent a car, travel to Figures and stay the night and see the sights the next day before returning to Barcelona?

I do not know about Cadaques, but I did take a train to Figueres for Dali's museum (which was wild and awesome). I believe it was a 1.25-1.5 hour trip one way. Hopefully someone else will give you info on Cadaques.
