We need to get from Milano to Bolzano on June 30 evening. Lefrecce.it is showing an itinerary of Frecciabianca 9739 from Milano to Verona P.N. and then Frecciargento 9478 from Verona to Bolzano. The connection time in Verona is 20 minutes. Anyone have any experience with whether these trains are usually on time and whether 20 min seems ok for connecting in Verona? The next train out of Verona seems to be Regionale 10940 two hours later. Would our Frecciargento ticket work on this later train if we miss the 20-min connection? Thanks for any advice!
Renee, In my experience, the "fast trains" are usually on time, but of course in Italy, anything can happen. A connection time of 20-minutes should be more than adequate. As I recall, there are two different track areas at Verona P.N. The majority of platforms are in one area, and there's a secondary set of tracks accessible via a tunnel. My memory is a bit "foggy" on the details. The platforms you'll be using are likely in the main part of the station. I doubt that your FrecciaArgento ticket would work for the Regionale. I'd ask the ticket agents. Happy travels!
