irish car rental

Has anyone experienced while renting a car in Ireland that they will make you buy the insurance, would not accent credit card Visa as insurer

If you check with your credit card company, you'll probably find that they won't cover Ireland, Israel, and a few other countries. Start with them first and it'll probably make sense.

Six years ago the only card that covered car rental insurance in Ireland was the World MasterCard. And it only allowed opting out of basic CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) coverage. Super CDW would have cost me extra.

I don't believe there are any cards that still cover rental cars in Ireland. (I had one, too, several years ago - and I trusted it, which was a HUGE mistake.) Be careful you understand your rental quotes so that you are comparing apples to apples. Some quotes include the CDW and some don't. But you're going to want the Super CDW, which brings your deductible to 0.
