I am flying Delta direct from Detroit to Amsterdam in November on an overnight flight. We leave Detroit around 3:00 p.m. He will be with me in the cabin. This is the first time I have taken him with me on a flight. ( I am moving to Amsterdam). I have the regulation sized, soft sided carrier (as cleared by Delta) and his reservation. My adult son will be accompanying us. I have reserved 2 Delta Comfort Plus seats on the side.
I know Detroit has a doggie comfort station. I would like any recommendations, such as food, no food, water, treats, anti anxiety meds (for him or for me!). Security-what's the procedure? Has anyone run into glitches that I should prepare for in advance? It is a overnight flight that arrives at 5 a.m., I'm hoping he'll sleep.
He has his international chip. I will have his health certificate by the time we leave. I have checked the government regulations in the NL. He is a Shih Tzu, and very mellow.
Thanks.
