Does anybody have any reputable consolidator's for international travel ? How much can you really save using them ? I'm planning on New York to Venice and returning from Rome in May. Best prices non-stop right was 998 and now has gone up 50 this week to 1045.
Travel agents are often best bet for finding consolidators. While it seems that you can find any deal you seek, it aint necessarily so.
In 2002, I used JustFares.com and got a good fare and had no problems, but that was over 5 years ago.
It's a gamble, but I don't know if I would wait to purchase tickets. I bought tickets last September to travel to Paris this month. I was worried that with the rising price of oil, that tickets wouldn't get any cheaper even if I waited until now, the typical airfare sale time. Sure enough, the airline I am flying to Paris announced a Europe special this week for travel during my time frame. The "sale" tickets are about $50 dollars higher than what I paid in September.
