Interlaken to St. Goar

I´m trying to find reasonably priced rail tickets between Interlaken and St. Goar. I´ve been looking at www.sbb.ch and www.db.de for the Swiss and German railways, but I was just wondering if there´s anything else out there that might offer more budget-friendly options. If you have any information that might help, it´d be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

What do you consider "more budget-friendly"? If you purchase in advance from the Bahn, you can a Europa-Spezial Schweiz fare of €39 pP. Interlaken is one of the few places to which you can get these fares with a leg entirely in Switzerland (Interlaken to Basel SBB). I just checked for a month from now and found €39 fares still available.

These are train-specific, non-refundable fares, but if you can commit, they offer a great deal.

Jack, if you know the name and address of the hotel in, say, Basel, you could use that as your mail address. As for getting that fare at a ticket counter over there, some discount fares ARE available at ticket counters for an extra fee; some ARE NOT. I'll check on Europa-Spezial Schweiz (that info is probably only in German). But even if it is, you would have to get it 3 days in advance from a ticket counter in Germany, and it could sell of before then.

I am trying to buy the Europa-Spezial Schweiz ticket from Basel to Frankfurt using the DB Bahn website.
I can buy the ticket, but they want to mail it to me. The problem is that I leave this sunday, may 17 and the mail will never get to me. Is there a way of buying the tickets in Europe? I will be in Geneva on May 22, and be leaving Basel on June1.
thanks

I think the Europa-Spezial Schweiz fares are only available online. After going to the DB website and reading the "Angebotskonditionen" (conditions of offer), I do not see anywhere that it says you can purchase them that way. Compare that to the Dauer-Spezial offer, which says, "Im personenbedienten Verkauf zzgl. 5,- Euro-Aufpreis", (Personally assisted purchase is an additional 5 Euro surcharge), which means you can purchase the Dauer-Spezial tickets at a counter for an additional €5. They don't mention that possibility with the Europa-Spezial tickets.

So, it looks like you need to have it mailed to an address in Europe (the ordering form allows you to specify a delivery address different from you home address). I would make sure that the hotel will accept the mail tickets for you.
