I'm trying to confirm that the train from Interlaken to Murren is covered with a Swiss Flexi Pass. If it is covered, does it use up one of the days of the flex pass? Im debating the advantages of the Swiss Card vs the Swiss Pass.
Yes, it is covered, and yes, it would use up a day of a Flex Pass. If that is the only travel you do that day, it is not a good use of a travel day, as the full fare for that journey is only 17.60 CHF.
Bob, One point to mention...... Are you clear on the travel route from Interlaken to Mürren? You'll only be able to take the train as far as Lauterbrunnen, and from that point there are two options to reach Mürren. If you need more detailed information, post another note.
It is interesting that SBB shows the trip from Lauterbrunnen to Muerren as a single train, without mentioning the cable car.
@ Lola, I didn't check the SBB site recently, but that IS interesting! While there is a small train that runs into an underground station in Mürren, there's a Funicular between that and the station in Lauterbrunnen. Hopefully the OP has all that information. Cheers!
Actually it is a cable car now, one like the Schilthorn cable car. They took out the funicular and replaced it with the cable car in 2007. The funicular was causing stress on the ground at Grutschalp, pulling it downhill. The cable car runs directly above where the funicular used to run.
Lola, Thanks for the on the Cable Car from Lauterbrunnen. I vaguely remembered the Funicular, but didn't realize it had been replaced. I normally use the Cable Car from Stechelberg.
