got a note from KLM that they now have nonstops from San Diego to Amsterdam. You could also use this if you are on the west coast and can't get good flights out of your home city.
Interesting, thanks phred.
that's interesting.
I wonder what they can fly to Amsterdam that can get in and out of San Diego International. I remember hearing pilot stories of how hair raising it was many years ago, and that was with 727s that would never get across all of the US and then the North Atlantic.
I wonder if they have lengthened the runway or moved the airport... it has been some years
Phred, I will remember this, thx.
Nigel, the airport is in the same beautiful location, on the coastline. Don't know anything about the runways.
Do you say Interesting because we are now up to about 3 nonstop flights to Europe out of San Diego? It's the big leagues! HA! Same airport; one runway. The KLM flight will be a Boeing 787-9. We also have 777's and A350's going to Europe, it's not like it's only prop planes going out of San Diego!
