inter-europe flights

I need to get from Paris to Milan. I'm considering Easyjet. Is there anything to watch out for or is there a better airline to consider?

Jan, I've used EasyJet on a number of occasions, and have always been pleased with their service. One good point about Paris - Milan flights, is that EasyJet departs from CDG, while RyanAir uses BVA which is a considerable distance from Paris. You'll most likely arrive at MXP Terminal 2, and it's easy to reach Milano Centrale via the Malpensa Shuttle. I travelled that route in September and it was very easy. You may be able to buy a ticket for the Shuttle on-board your flight. While it's also possible to travel by train from MXP, they depart from Terminal 1 and I felt the Shuttle was the quickest and simplest solution from Terminal 2. EasyJet seems like a very progressive airline. According to News reports tonight, they will be installing "Ash Detectors" (ie: Volcanic Ash) on their aircraft, which is quite a "leading edge" technology. I imagine all airlines will use them eventually. Happy travels!

I too have flown EasyJet from Paris-CDG to Milan. It was fine. Recommend them.

Jan If this is your first time flying on a discount European airline, it is very important you read the fine print. There are restrictions on luggage / carryon weight, size and number as well as other things. The additional costs if you ignore their restrictions is very high. Also there are extra charges for everything; reserve seat, boarding first, food and drinks, etc. The flights are still a very good value especially if you book as soon as you know your itinerary. You just want to know the FINAL price not their initial price online. I know, I know, I answered a question that wasn't asked. Bobbie

Jan, A bit of further information to add. As Bobbie mentioned, you'll need to read the "fine print" when using budget airlines in Europe. One point to note is that many of them have a limit of ONE carry-on item. That doesn't mean "one plus a personal item such as a purse or Laptop case", in means ONE ONLY of the approved size.

My wife and I took EasyJet from Paris to Venice. Just follow all their rules to a "T" and be there early. Pre-pay for luggage. You'll be fine.

You can look at Vueling too , I flew them to Rome from Paris,, I paid the extra for a checked bag ahead of time.

Thank you for all the great responses! Yes, this will be our 5th trip to Europe, so we travel light, but just never used Easyjet before. Used Tuifly from Munich to Venice....it was a great airline too! Thank you again! Jan
