I will be flying on Air France from Marseille to CDG and then CDG to Denver on Icelandair with the stop in Reykjavik. I'm confused about where I'd be going through immigration/security since I wouldn't be leaving the Schengen area until we leave Iceland. I only have 3 hours to navigate CDG after I arrive there from Marseille. Thanks.

CDG is not my favorite. Good luck.
We got the open question routine from an agent while in line to check in at CDG. I have a different last name than husband so got called again over the loud speaker at the gate to talk to them once more. The Trump era not letting bad people into the US but am a citizen and had a military id so whatever. It takes longer to check in for sure but would think all this would happen at Marseille.
Since the declared state of emergency in France has ended, the normal rules, as set out in the link from one of the posters, should apply. When we last flew Icelandair to/from CDG, passport control was in Iceland both ways, and that should be the case now.

If you're talking about immigration and security, it doesn't all happen in Marseille. Normally, if this was all booked on one itinerary/ticket, this would be:
- Marseille: check in and security
- CDG: switch planes only, normally no security
- Keflavik: Schengen exit passport control, normally no security
Any bags checked in will not appear until Denver.
However, if this was booked on two tickets, which I suspect could be the case since Air France and Icelandair are not partners, the stop at CDG could get more complicated:
- If the OP is checking bags, they will not be transferred in Paris and the OP will have to claim them at baggage claim and then re-check them. This will involve leaving the secure area and re-clearing security.
- If the OP for some reason cannot get a boarding pass for the CDG-KEF-DEN flights via mobile or online, then the OP will also have to leave the secure area to get the boarding pass.
Note that under all scenarios you don't go through Schengen exit passport control until you reach Keflavik.
