If I have a Eurorail pass do I need a reservation?

High speed trains like TGVs require reservations. Night trains require paying a supplement, the cost of which depends upon what kind of sleeping accommodations you choose and includes the required reservation. On some trains reservations are recommended, but optional. On many regional trains they aren't even possible. With a pass you just jump on and go.
