Iceland Air carryon

Hi,
A friend and I are flying to paris, on JetBlue and Iceland Air (one ticket, issued by IA).
IA's website is unclear on whether you can take any kind of "personal item" so I called airline -- and they weren't even clear on it! After much vascillating, the woman ultimately said: yes, you can also bring either a laptop or a very small purse.
I'd love to hear from folks who have actually flown IA and find out what you were allowed to carry on as a personal item (yes, I know that doesn't guarantee it'll be same for us, but looking for a general idea).
Thanks much!

Traveling from LHR to KEF, they did weigh my carry-on bag which was just a daypack. They seemed to be strictly enforcing the 10 kg carry-on limit as the family in front of me did some shuffling of items between bags. I also brought a purse (not large). I checked my suitcase as this is my preference. From KEF to IAD, they did not weigh my carry-on.

I wore my usual messenger bag and had a small, wheeled carry-on suitcase. No questions asked. This was a year ago though, so maybe their policies changed?

I flew Iceland Air (Denver to Paris) two years ago with a 21" wheeled carry on plus a purse large enough to hold my 10" netbook and I had no problems.

I should add that I flew less than 2 weeks ago. The weighing of carry-on only occurred at LHR. I had an overnight in Reykjavik and they didn't weigh carry-on bags out of KEF. Don't know why the difference in enforcement.

Last November both my husband and I carried on a 20" wheeled suitcase as well as the Rick Steve's civita day bag. No issues whatsoever. Both of our bags were under the 10kg limit.

I'm sure you already know this, but make sure to bring on your own food and headphones - Iceland Air charges for both.

Thanks everyone! Encouraging to hear. I think I have more of a plan now.

If you decide to take a small bag on Iceland Air, be sure it's food. They're known for charging extra for meals in flight.

I flew Icelandair recently into Reykjavik/Stockholm. I had a 21 inch roller and a backpack. No problems.

We looooove this airline! Have flown them three times. Recently (September 2014) flew them SEA-KEF-FRA. One 21 inch rolling duffel and Rick's iPad shoulder bag. Also had a Starbucks bag of goodies. No problems.
