I am curious if I will have any trouble buying tickets at the station in Franfurt on Sunday, another words will the seats be available, or the trains are usually full? Are the tickets at the station cheaper than online?
When discount fares are offered, usually the only way to get them is to book in advance online. Standard fares are the same, whether you book them online or buy them at the station.
Tickets at the station are NOT cheaper than online. I don't know about seat availability.
I took this same train last summer mid-week and the train was standing-room. Be advised that there is a difference between a train ticket and a seat reservation. Even if all seats are reserved, you may still buy a ticket for this train and stand or take the seat of a "no show"; if there are any.
Thanks guys!
I was also wondering, Tim, you said that tickets at the station are not cheaper than online, did you mean standard fare or discounted? Or only standard fare is offered at the station on the day of the departure?
Thanks.
