IC/EC Train Seat Reservation

Hi. I am a little confused on the seat reservation for IC/EC trains. I booked a couple 2nd class train tickets from Prague to Berlin. At the time it said I could not reserve seats. I assumed that was because I booked them roughly 3 months prior to my departure date and I read on the Bahn website that international seat reservations can only be made 2 months before. I am now trying to reserve seats and have no idea how to. When I look at my bookings there are no options for it. Can I reserve seats in 2nd class? If so, does anyone know how to to do it online? If it cannot be done online, can seat reservations be made at the train station?

Lindsay , Go to Czech Railways , I believe you can still make a seat reservation only . Go to the offer for the train you chose and click it . When the info comes up there is a box below the date and time field that says document . on the right side of the box , click and it will bring up " place reservation only " go on from there . https://www.cd.cz/eshop/ . Holler if you need more help .

Lindsey, To answer one of your questions, YES, you can certainly buy the reservations at the train station. Will you be arriving in Prague by train? If so, just buy the reservations for your outgoing journey when you arrive there, as you'll be at the station anyway. Note that there are several rail stations in Prague. You'll be using Praha hlavní nádraží (abbreviated as Praha hl.n) for the trip to Berlin. Happy travels!

You can get reservations in the Prague station before you depart. In May, 2012, I was on the very train from Prague to Dresden, without reservations. There were seats available. I'm sure I could have gotten a seat reservation at the station if I had wanted one. Not sure this is the best solution, but for 4€ you can get an online reservation from the Bahn for that EC from Bad Schandau, the first stop in Germany, to Berlin.

I had the same question about tickets booked for Salzburg to Vienna. Went back on oebb.at, where I had bought the tickets, and in the "ticket booking" area I found a button marked "more" on the line showing the train I wanted -- and there it was, "seat reservation only," Hope you can find a hidden button as well.
