Iberia LEVEL and other Flight Questions

I booked my Father and I on the Iberia Level SFO-BCN flight one way for a Trans Atlantic nonstop from SFO-BCN for $280 on the Optimal Fare via Iberia's website which includes luggage, seat assignment and Meals. My Mother is flying to Paris and joining us in BCN.

I was wondering if you had experience with regards to the Iberia Optimal Fare for LEVEL with the meals./drinks. I got us seats 5J and K Window Aisle in the Mini Y Cabin with three rows at the front just behind Premium Economy. To me the extra $80 is worth it as I read that IB will randomly select seats if we don't get an assignment and then you pay for luggage and meals..

Will our IFE Monitor be programmed to not charge us if we want snacks or other drinks? On the LEVEL website there is no Optimal Fare with Meals just a Basic Fare with Luggage hence why I booked via Iberia.

My Mother is booked on Norwegian from OAK-CDG for $280 and Vueling from CDG-BCN for $80 . The Norwegian Flight has luggage, meals and seat assignment included. I added Priority Boarding and the Cancel for Medical Reason for $12.

We booked Southwest for $148 one way from Tampa-San Jose. So overall we got very good flights as Cruise Air wanted Double for the one way to Barcelona and the $148 would have been in Basic Economy so we chose Southwest for a 1 stop no flight change in San Diego arriving SJC at 2:50 PM the day after we arrive from the Cruise in Tampa.

Were on a 22 night Med/Trans Atlantic Cruise on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance. Have 4 nights in Barcelona with a Paella Cooking class!.

The Vueling Flight includes luggage and seat assignment.

Thanks for your help.

Level 's website provides more details than you found. Scroll down this page:

It sounds like it calls your fare the Flex Fare. Some refreshments are covered but extra stuff will probably cost extra (and probably by credit card only, although I cannot say from experience with Level.)

The budget airline format is to charge extra for all "extras". Each airline sets its own rules so that Southwest, for instance, may not be the same as Level.
What you are unlikely to get is the chance to check in baggage from start to finish. There are exceptions, but most discount airlines do not interline. And the weight and dimension of bags can also vary.
Most, though not all, discount lines also do not protect passengers from flight delays. If you miss your second flight because the first arrived late, you buy a whole new ticket for the second, probably at a higher price.

I can't sort out your routes since two different parties are involved and you appear to be flying from both US coasts. The best comparison, rather than one-way flights, is to run a multi-destination search on a site such as matrix.itasoftware.com

Such a combined ticket might cost more but would probably offer protection if a flight delay disturbs the itinerary. Also luggage checked through. Which is to say, less stress.

FYI: Level and Vueling are discount branches of Iberia, itself controlled by the corporation that also own Aer Lingus and British Airways.
