And it wasn't a voucher, but cash offered. Been on that run many times.
Wow! Unbelievable!
Personally, I would have only taken the money IF I was guaranteed a seat on Delta's next flight to MSP. It's one thing if you're retired it's a whole other thing If you're flying around the country on business and getting flights in and out of small airports is important. In my road warrior day airlines were only chucking around a couplea hundred bucks.
My get out of Michigan airport was always Kalamazoo !
It's really surprising that people weren't falling over themselves to get to the desk. Think of all the travel that would buy!
apparently, the next flight was in 2 days.
Imagine how much airlines would save if they didn’t oversell flights.
I would have missed out on the $10K offer because i would have jumped up and taken the $5K in a heartbeat.
When I traveled for work, I passed up lots of offers...because you have to be where you have to be.
But in retired life, yeah, would jump at those offers if they did not cost me more in hotel and meal costs to delay.
Ok, dp, when you put it that way… 5K is less appealing.
It’s about a 10 hour drive. Amtrak goes all the way, change in Chicago. There must have been connections via Detroit or Chicago. Kalamazoo has nonstops also.
