I have a flight scheduled on a planned strike day - opinions?

I have a flight scheduled from the U.S. to Paris on a planned strike day. I know nobody knows how it will all pan out, and if I'm affected, I'll have to deal with. I'm just torn with whether or not I should wait until the day before to find out if my flight is cancelled or not, or if I should try to re-book now. The trip itself cannot be postponed as I'm meeting up with a planned trip with colleagues (many of whom are flying different airlines so are not affected), so I'm on my own. It's stressful, cuz I'm worried if I rebook and get a crappy flight that disrupts my other plans to find out my original flight is going as planned, that would stink. I know clearly it depends on how much of a risk I'm willing to take. Just wondering who has dealt with similar situations in the past and how it worked out.

If the RER is down, there are always buses and taxis. They'll be crowded, leading to extra aggravation. Nothing to change a flight about. Paris is a good walking town anyway.

If I had a business meeting where my absence would have an adverse effect on my business colleagues, who also had to fly for that meeting, I wouldn't hesitate to change the flight, whether it's a crappy one it not. If you wait until the last day you might not be able to find any flight, regardless of crappiness.

ETA - we got stuck because of a BA strike several years ago. The only choice we had was a flight the next day. Fortunately this as at the end of the trip, not the beginning.

If the strike isn’t settled two weeks before your flight, change it to Delta or KLM. Forty-seven percernt of long-hauls were hit this week. My son didn’t want to change from his direct flight last week and chose to risk it. Only 20% were hit, but he got it smack between the eyes. Waiting until the day before, all internet and phone lines were jammed. They rescheduled him from the Tuesday flight to the Sunday, but he was home by then on the last minute ticket we bought on another airline. So, if it’s not settled and you have to be there for work, be proactive.
