how/where to

I have not had success finding information about taking the bus (using a europass)from Rothenberg to Fussen. Can you take a tour bus for part of the way and continue on train? Who/what is the internet site for information? thanks so much!

Cara, in the Rick Steves book I was reading about the romantic road and he says there is not a bus that takes that route. I don't much beyond what I read but I would look into more.

Euraide has information about the Romantic Road coach, including a schedule, on their website, www.euraide.com). According to them, you don't need reservations.

I found the same website that Nandan found from the German language side of the official website of the Road, www.romantischestrasse.de. The problem with the Romantic Road coach is that it only makes one trip per day, each way, and does not stop at most towns long enough to get out and see anything.

There are also bus or train connections all the way along the Romantic Road - buses from Rothenburg to Nördlingen, train from Nördlingen to Landsberg, and buses from Landsberg to Füssen. In both cases (trains or buses), there are multiple trips each way per day. You can stop for an hour or so, then continue on with the next train or bus.

You can find the train and bus schedules on the Bahn query site, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en.

This is from the Guidebook update site here:
In a hurry to get from Rothenburg to Munich? Get off the Romantic Road Bus in Augsburg (between Dinkelsbühl and Füssen) and take a 45-minute train trip into Munich. You'll miss some time on the bus (and the stop at the Wieskirche), but you'll get to Munich five hours earlier. The Augsburg-Munich train trip costs €10-18 — depending on the speed of the train — and is not covered by the Romantic Road Bus ticket. For more details, see www.euraide.de/ricksteves, www.deutsche-touring.com, or www.romantischestrasse.de.
