Can you tell me how I get from the Marco Polo Airport in Venice to the Santa Lucia train station? I am going to be staying in the Abbazia Hotel in the Cannaregio districtwhich is supposed to be close to the train station

No 5 bus to Piazzale Roma. You can walk from there if you're traveling light, otherwise one vaporetto stop to the station.

Hillary, If you go to bing.com and go to the map section you will find it has EXCELLENT aerial and birds eye views of that area which should help you get the lay of the land beforehand.
