How to get home to Dallas from Naples

I am looking at a South Italy tour for next year and I was figuring out how to get back and forth. Rome is no problem - DFW/ORD/FCO. But getting to DFW from Naples in a day is no sure thing. No good options pop up.

Anyone have experience on doing that? Did you backtrack to Rome?

unless you take a regional to paris - you probably have to go to Rome (or Milan) - then NY, Chicago (maybe London?) to TX. Agents woluld be the best - but go with local carriers or major hubs. You may consider something like Lufthansa plus a local - Like Dallas to Frankfurt or Munich - then to Rome on a local or subsidiary/partner. But back from Naples will go to Rome first - then Munich/Frankfurt to Dallas. Probably your best bet to avoid additional stops in US. Its funny how few big Euro companies go direct from west of the Mississippi. I just go try to go via Frankfurt, Munich or Zurich direct then local subs or trains. (Paris or London or Amsterdam may be the exception since you can go direct there too from CA, WA, TX)

To my mind the easiest way is to fly DFW to LGW using AA then LGW to NAP using BA.

It's a one hub jump.

Sorry reverse that NAP to LGW on BA
LGW to DFW on AA

I can see trying to go through London, but the flights that I see from Naples get to London after the non-stops to DFW have already left.

I was hoping to make it in one connection, if at all possible.

Schedules change. I'll keep an eye on it.

Backtrack about 2 hours to fly out of Rome.

Yes, it looks like Rome is one option, although it violates the spirit of Rick's 'open jaw' philosophy. The Chicago flight leaves Rome at 11:30, which leaves us with the prospect of either a) taking a really early train from Naples, if there are any, or b) leaving the tour the last night, missing the farewell dinner and overnighting in Rome, or c) staying in Italy another day, which was what I was trying to avoid in the first place. I don't want to go back to work the day after a transatlantic flight. And we are pushing it to get two weeks in a row off as it is. Oh, well, 10 day tours work better for us than 13!
