Go to the Eurostar website. That's the train you want. Tickets go on sale 120 days in advance. A few are offered at discounted rates, non-refundable, non-exchangeable. Prices are listed. The earlier you purchase, the cheaper the tickets. The trains leave from St Pancras station. You get there by bus, tube or taxi. You need to be at the station about 45 minutes before departure for security and customs/passport control procedures.

Fares for Standard class travel on Eurostar range from about $65 to $300 one way, per person, with the cheapest offers selling out first on any given departure. All except for full fare are nonrefundable but most now can be exchanged up to some point before the scheduled departure (but not if you miss the scheduled departure).

Susanne, The company is called "Eurostar", the website is www.eurostar.com
Fares vary from £41 to £174 each way (click here), but you have to book very early to get the cheapest fares.
But first read the page Harold gave you a link to. The "Man in Seat 61" is the best resource for all info to do with trains in Europe.
The trains run from London St Pancras station to Paris Gare du Nord. It takes about 2¼ to 2½ hours, plus 30 minutes check-in.

You will need to use the tube to get from wherever you are in London (Westminster?) to St Pancras, and the métro from Gare de Nord to your final destination in Paris. Roughly one train departure per hour.
I have never heard of an area of London called "Victory", that is new on me.

Leaving only a 30 minute check in is risky. You actually have to be through the check in gates al least 30 minutes ahead or they won't let you travel.

There are regularly 15 to 30 minute queues to check in at St Pancras.

I always advise at least 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure.

And what did you mean about Victory area? I've never heard of it either.

My guess is she meant Westminster/Victoria station area.

Check the Eurostar website as they may allow booking 6 to 10 months in advance depending on the final destination.

Take a Tube to King's Cross and cross over to St. Pancras.

As others have said, the Eurostar is the best way. My friend and I are making the same journey in September. I booked our tickets exactly 4 months before the day we will travel, and I got each ticket at $59 USD. Again, we got such a low price because we purchased so early, and we chose the cheapest non-refundable fare with the lowest flexibility. I'm glad I read this thread, however, because I didn't realize we would need to give ourselves a good 45 minutes to check in at least, so thanks for that tip, fellow travelers!

Hi Susanne,
I learned the hard way that there is also a BIG difference in price depending on your day of travel. We booked our London and Paris hotels first and bought a Friday Eurostar ticket. Leaving on a Wednesday or Thursday would have been almost 50% cheaper.
