I'm traveling in June and am thinking of taking a train from Paray le Monial (France, near Lyon) to Milan. However, I cannot find a way to get the price; DeutscheBahn does not list it, nor does Trenitalia. Any suggestions?
(I'm finding for other long segments, flying is cheaper and faster than train--eg, Milan to Rome.)

Sherry Milan to Rome is really faster on the train. It is important to add in the real travel and wait time for flights. 45 min to hr by regional train from city ctr to airport, security, wait time 2 hours before flight, flight time 1 hr?, 45 min regional train to city ctr. etc. The train goes city center to city center. 3 1/2 to 4 hours on high speed train. And you have ONE place to be/sit the entire time. Nice seat, room to move around, have a drink or a snack, or take a nap! Bobbie
Sherry, Flying may be cheaper on the Milan-Rome trip, but I very much doubt that it's faster. Be sure to include the time getting to and from the airports at both ends (a minimum of 45 minutes each), check-in and security time, waiting time and the possibility of being nicked with baggage surcharges and of course the "usual" airport hassles. Compare that to a relaxing ride via high speed FrecciaRossa, admiring the beauty of the Tuscan scenery with a travel time as short as 2H:59M and no hassles. "Mini" fares on that route are currently indicated at 79€. Train is definitely the best choice on that route (at least IMHO). Happy travels!
