how to book on Jet2?

Has anyone booked a flight on Jet2? I don't seem to be able to access them. It gives me an "access denied" error. The flights come up on Skyscanner and it appears that I might be able to book via Expedia. However, I need to add payment for checked bags and that doesn't seem available on Expedia.

I'd prefer to do all of this with the airline directly if possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I booked our flights from Edinburgh to Vienna on Jet2.com. No problems. The flight was fine too.

I booked with them and seem to remember some trouble booking. I think I had to use my Gmail and not my normal email because it was creating a problem. I was able to book directly with them in the end.

FYI - if you're traveling with carryon, buy their Guaranteed Cabin Baggage fare or else they'll likely take your bags from you at the gate area, claiming there is no room for them on the plane. They took ALL the bags around us and were going to take ours until our pulled out the guaranteed cabin baggage language.

I tried Edge, Firefox and Safari and all gave the 'access denied' response

Perhaps 3lovetotravel is not US based, or can tell us how they accessed the jet2 website

I just fake booked all the way through to credit card payment with no problem. Where are you getting the access denied error?

Hmmm, Valerie you just blew my theory although Joe32f did what I was going to try next and failed. We're all here in WA state.

Valerie, can you send me the link you used? If you can't add it here, then in a private msg? Maybe they use a different website than Jet2 dot com?

Thanks for your help!

Hi. Since you asked I booked our flights from Florida on an Apple IPad. Searched kayak for the best flight then booked directly on jet2. But I’m not computer knowledgeable enough to know why others are having access denied.

Well, since I involved you all in this, here's what I discovered. Based on what you all have told me, I tried accessing the jet2 website from my iphone using my cell phone provider versus my internet service provider (tmobile vs comcast), and it worked.

I am (just) technical enough to know this means that my router is probably the difference. I will investigate a bit further to see if I can determine why and if I can "fix" it. I don't like the idea of using a credit card (to book our flights) over a cell network.

Thanks to all who provided feedback!

I also got the "access denied" message, when I tried the links, in both Chrome and Firefox, on a Windows 7 desktop computer. I'm using Verizon as my internet provider, in New York City.

Seakat, I've read (no personal expertise) that the cellular network is actually very secure. The days when people would "clone" a cell phone by hacking the network are from when it was analog; now it's all digital and much harder to hack. Most cell phone hacks these days seem to be over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, not over the cell network itself.

Hey, Harold, you could be right. My expertise is/was not cellular based. Bigger issue (for me) is that I have a smaller iPhone (the SE) and it's hard to do anything other than minimal stuff on it. Maybe I'll have to add cell access on my fire.

Still hoping there is a work around. Strangely, I can get access to jet2holidays.

I just tried tethering my cell phone connection to my computer, and I could access Jet2's website with no problem (my carrier is T-Mobile). I then reconnected to my regular wired internet, and it was again blocked.

So, if your cell phone plan allows tethering, you can turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot, then connect your larger device to it to book the tickets.
