How practical is this Itinerary in Venice, Italy ?

Hi Folks,

This is my first trip to Europe. I am planning to take a train from Salzburg to Venice and arrive in Venice around 7 pm on a particular day. I guess I will be getting down at the last stop. Any recommendations for a cost effective Hotel or Hostel near the station is appreciated.

Here are the list of attractions that I have researched about to see in Venice.

Basilica Di San Marco

Correr Museum

Doge's Palace

Palazzo Grassi

Chiesa di Santa Maria della Salute

Ca' Foscari

Ponte di Rialto

Ca' Pesaro

Fondaco dei Turchi

Looks like I will be walking to see most of these places. I dont know if I can visit all of them in 1 day. Is it practical or Should I choose only some from this list ?

Thanks

If it were me. I would cut the list by at least half so you have time to actually "see" some of them. Just a thought..example: It takes at least an hour to just walk through the Dogge's palace (personally I spent 3 hours in there). And part of the experience of Venice is having the time to sit in St Mark's square & enjoy a coffee & just take it all in.
Otherwise you may as well just rush around take a gondola ride, take a few pics, buy the T-shirt & move on .
Personally, I think you can see the Dogge's Palace,St Mark's Basilica, Correr Museum easily as they are all in St Marks Square & the Realto Bridge is on the Grand Canal & only a stroll from the above attractions.
Pick up a good map... most people get lost & finding your way is part of the fun. Dont get stressed, buy a gelato & dont even think of cutting your day short because you are tired. Venice is a whole different experience at night!
