How far in advance for Eurostar tickets?

I know there is a significant discount for purchasing tix from London to Paris well in advance, as we did it 11 years ago. But I can't remember how far in advance---and anyway it may have changed, so I thought I should ask here. Is it 4 months out? 6?

Thanks.

The UK Eurostar site has 6 months out, to the day. Their prices will be in GBP, which your bank should convert at the daily rate, IIRC from when we did this last year, the US site's dollars are higher. Additional fee for credit card but not debit card. They also give you a couple GBP discount for over 60.

Perfect, thanks. We are coming up on the 6 months date later this month, so I will be ready! Is there any trick to getting on (and staying on) the UK site? I have a credit card with no FTF's so am happy to book in £££.

For my trip last month I purchased my Eurostar ticket as soon as my date of travel opened up, several months in advance. I believe the one-way London to Paris fare that I paid was $56 for second class

Site is http://www.eurostar.com/uk-en Just follow instructions and click on through it, works fine. Don't forget to notify the credit card company of the charge so it does not get blocked, as this is will come to bank as foreign. Be sure to check the updated seating chart in The Man in Seat 61, www.seat61.com, for the accurate positioning of seats and windows.

Good information there. Which direction are you traveling, Lola? There are little tricks about each of their stations....

If you are using the Standard Premier service, we like the Club Duo, two facing seats over a small table. They have a new name now, but old timers will recognise the term.

Standard Premier food isn't what it used to be. If only upgrading for the food, don't bother.

Thank you, Nigel. We actually will be traveling both directions, over to Paris and then back a few days later (we are going specifically for the early rounds of the French Open. My husband is a huge tennis fan and I always jump at a chance to see my Swiss heartthrob Roger).

If there is a discount for RT tickets I will need to take that into account with my booking date. I have not looked at schedules and classes of service yet, but hope to do that today. I have one last detail of the UK portion of the trip to nail down first.
