I purchased two Prem tickets travelling from Paris CDG airport to Lille for my trip Sep 27 from TGV web site. Everything went well except I cannot print the ticket at home. The site stated there is a technical problem and ask me to try again. I wonder whether I have done something wrong. I cannot creat my tickets.
I don't think this is uncommon. Email SNCF and ask for help--they can respond in English. It's easy to pick up your tickets at the station if you can't print them.
The SNCF site and its link "TGV.com" are screwed up these past 3 days. You are lucky you got through at all. Near the end of the month and at the end of the calendar quarter, they evidently go down or reduce access. You probably had to give your e-mail. If so, you will receive a confirmation of your tickets and it will be in French. Look for "imprimer" and click to print your tickets. Also, if you do not state that you asked for the tickets on the 27 or 26. You have to have ordered on the 27 IN FRANCE. Relative to another person's inquiry, you do not have to declare Great Britain as the country to pick up the tickets to get an English version. Just click the Union Jack at the top of the TGV page
I received the email for the confirmation in English not in French. It is just not able to print. If I can pick up the tickets on the day of travel Sep 27, I will be fine. I just hesitate to book another tickets.
D.D. just an FYI. You are correct that to get an English version you can just select the Union Jack. On the next page, however, if U.S. citizens select USA as the country to pick up our tickets, we are switched to Rail Europe. Not so for Canadians. They will remain in English on the TGV-Europe site. Advising U.S. citizens to select Great Britain as the country to pick up their tickets also keeps us on the TGV-Europe site. I guess we could select Canada as well.
Actually larry there is a lot of confusion about booking from Canada. It seems like it goes all the way through and allows you to book.
I emailed them twice and got 2 different responses...that if I am in North America I need to use Rail Europe. The second indicated in sort of an unclear way that I would be fine.
I am kind of wondering while in Canada yes I can probably book on TGV but I would have to pick up my tickets in France (on my trip i am starting in the UK, to Italy and then France. I could probably arrange to have my tickets arrive in the UK at a relatives or the hotel.
They sure make something that should be so easy complicated.
