Honeymoon travel

We are flying into Amsterdam (3 days); then to Stuttgart (Mercedes Tour); then to Venice(2 days). Venice to Modena (Ferrari) then want to spend the night there or Parma, onto Cinque Terre(3days). Down to Rome(4 days), fly out of Rome. This is over 2 weeks in October; which is the best transportation?

Can you be more specific? This is our first time traveling to Europe. Thanks

First of all, what do you mean by "best"? Cheapest? Fastest? Most convenient?

Since this is your first trip to Europe, and your honeymoon to boot, I'll ask you this: do you want a relaxing time with your new spouse, or do you want to spend a lot of time seeing airports, trainstations, the inside of trains, packing and unpacking? If the first, eliminate half of your destinations.

We're open for the adventure, and the night train.... We want to see the car factories, then relax in the Venice, Cinque, and Rome. We'll go back. I just wasn't sure if we would be on trains, buses....Best.. would be most convenient. Thanks

I think that the general rule of thumb is that for a trip that takes six hours by train, if you fly, by the time you take transportation to the airport, several hours waiting and going through check in, security, etc, flight time, finding ground transportation and getting into the city, you'll spend about 6 hours. There are trains from Amsterdam to Stuttgart in less than 6 hours.

For someone like me, from Colorado, Brenner Pass, from Innsbruck to Italy, was kind of ho-hum, but some people think the scenery is pretty. There are day train connections from Stuttgart to Venice in less than 10 hours as well as a night train that gets you into Venice in the morning.
